How to become
certified?
To achieve this certification, you must take and pass exams #640-503,
640-504, 640-505 and 640-506. You must also have your CCNA certification.
Why do I need to
upgrade my certification?
Cisco has updated the courses to keep current with technology changes.
The recommended training for CCNP certification is:
CCNA Certifications
- Building Scalable
Cisco Networks (BSCN)
- Building Cisco
Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN)
- Building Cisco
Remote Access Networks (BCRAN)
- Cisco Internetwork
Troubleshooting (CIT)
What if I'm in
the process of achieving my CCNP certification?
If you have completed part of your recommended training and #640-4XX exams
for CCNP certification, you should complete any remaining exams with the
#640-5XX CCNP exams. Please note the recommended training for the #640-5XX
exams are different, so candidates who took the original curriculum may
require some additional self-study or may choose to take the new recommended
training courses. All recommended training will be available as instructor-led
and e-learning courses. (Cisco copy right 2000)
What if I'm already
CCNP certified?
If you achieved your CCNP certification with the #640-4XX exams, you are
still CCNP certified. You do not need to certify again with #640-5XX CCNP
exams. The only difference in the certifications will be the actual date
of certification. This date will become important once Cisco announces
its recertification policy. However, if you choose to certify again with
the #640-5XX exams, you will have a more current date of certification
in Certification Tracking System.(Cisco copy right 2000)
