Component Object Model

The Component Object Model (COM) and its related COM-based

Technologies of DCOM, COM+, MTS and ActiveX® comprise the most widely-used component software model in the world. COM is a run time, binary, language independent model which allows for ease of code development and extensive re-use.

Apex InfoTech makes full use of COM in many of our solutions. COM features used by Apex include language independence, security, high performance, robust development tools from Microsoft and other sources.

Our COM objects can be used in Web Pages, on Web Servers, in Visual Basic Applications, Visual C++ applications, scripts and other ways. Our Visual Basic team and easily share code with our C++ and web development teams.

Apex InfoTech is using C# on its new .NET initiatives.
Visual Basic, Java and C++ developers can all take full advantage of C#, making it the new language of choice for .NET and Web based development. Apex InfoTech is already working on key projects using C# and we expect it will be used in many future solutions. In conjunction with this Apex InfoTech will use the Java migration tools provided by Microsoft to help take our customers into the future.

C# (pronounced "C sharp"), is a modern, object-oriented language that enables programmers to quickly build a wide range of applications for the new Microsoft .NET platform. More than anything else, C# is designed to bring rapid development to the C++ programmer without sacrificing the power and control that have been a hallmark of C and C++. Because of this heritage, C# has a high degree of fidelity with C and C++. Developers familiar with these languages can quickly become productive in C#, states Microsoft.

As Microsoft continues to move forward with their products offerings, Apex InfoTech also moves along with them in Technology advancement. Apex InfoTech will continue to introduce C# into its solution offering by incorporated it into the development and design of software applications and other total solution proposals.

Apex InfoTech creates on line applications using Active Server Pages for server side scripting and JavaScript for the client side. Apex InfoTech has created solutions using these tools for companies such as Toyota, PCM, LA County and for our internal use over the past four years.

Systems created this way provide full feature sets that are easy to deploy and maintain. Apex InfoTech also uses ASP/JavaScript built systems for its internal billing systems, staff tracking systems, membership, project management, security and hours tracking.

Apex InfoTech uses ASP, COM objects and database access object together to create dynamic web pages. ASP ties in directly with Microsoft's Visual Studio to create and debug advanced web sites.

Microsoft Visual Basic

Microsoft Visual Basic is a powerful, robust, widely used software development language. Apex InfoTech provides solutions in all Visual Basic types:

Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), which is Visual Basic embedded in applications

Extensible Markup Language (XML)

Apex InfoTech makes extensive use of XML because it allows an easy to use data exchange format that has wide support across vendors and industries. Microsoft has released BizTalk Server to allow for the easy, and fast exchange of XML information.
