Doing Business Online Using Microsoft b-Central

Course 1933: Three days; Instructor-led

Introduction

The goal of this course is to provide students with the skills necessary to create, customize, and promote e-commerce Web sites for small and medium-sized businesses by using the services and tools in the Microsoft® bCentral portal.

Audience

This course is intended for people who want to create base-level Web sites, add e-commerce features, and then promote the sites.

The secondary audience for this course consists of owners of small and medium-size businesses who already have e-commerce Web sites and want to add e-commerce features and use the site-promotion services provided by bCentral.

At Course Completion

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the features and components of an e-commerce Web site.
  • Create a base-level e-commerce Web site by using the site creation services of Microsoft bCentral.
  • Customize the site by using Microsoft FrontPage® 2000.
  • Promote the site by using the site-promotion tools provided by Microsoft bCentral.
  • Measure the popularity of the site.

 

 

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have:

  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Windows® applications and Internet browsers.
  • Experience in creating simple Web pages by using FrontPage 2000.

The course materials, lectures, and lab exercises are in English. To benefit fully from the instruction, students need an understanding of the English language and completion of the prerequisites.

  • Selecting a theme for your site by using Site Manager.

Module 3: Building an E-Commerce Web Site

After completing this module, you will be able to build an e-commerce Web site. This includes:

Module 4: Customizing Web Pages Using Microsoft FrontPage 2000
